Secured Transactions

Secured transactions are loan or credit transactions in which lenders acquire interests in collateral that is pledged by the borrowers in order to secure payment. The secured creditor is entitled to foreclose on or repossess the collateral in the event of a borrower defaults. Fortson, Bentley and Griffin’s transactional attorneys have represented both lenders and borrowers throughout the Athens area and northeast Georgia in all facets of their secured transactions. Our talented attorneys have years of experience dealing with difficult issues that can arise in connection with these complex transactions, including repossessing secured collateral on behalf of lenders, and representing them in adversarial bankruptcy proceedings.
