Jody J. Corry, Of Counsel
JODY CORRY is Corporate Counsel and a Vice President at Athens Regional Health Services, Inc. (ARHS) and continues to serve Fortson, Bentley & Griffin as special counsel in the firm’s healthcare practice.
Jody has significant experience advising healthcare clients on confidentiality, fraud and abuse, contract negotiations, medical staff issues, risk management, regulatory compliance, and various other healthcare related matters.
Jody worked as a law clerk at FB&G while in law school at the University of Georgia School of Law and joined the firm as a full-time attorney in 1991 following her graduation. She remained with the firm as a full-time attorney until 2015, when she accepted her current position with ARHS.
Jody earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Georgia and was elected homecoming queen her senior year. Prior to attending law school, she worked for U.S. Senator Sam Nunn in Washington, D.C.
Jody grew up in Jesup, Georgia (Wayne County) where she attended public schools. She and her husband, Mac, have two children, Will and Ellen. Jody and her family are active members of First Presbyterian Church, where Jody teaches Sunday school and has previously served as an Elder. She has also served as President of the Junior League of Athens, Chair of the Special Gifts Committee for Athens Regional Foundation, Community Connection Board of Directors, and 1997 participant in Leadership Georgia. From 2009-2013, she was elected and served as National Vice President-Collegians for Kappa Delta Sorority. Her honors include UGA’s Outstanding Young Alumnus, Rotary’s Jean Harris Award for Community Service, and the Junior League’s Angel Award.
